Four feet tall with a six-foot wingspan, the great blue heron weighs only five to eight pounds. The Black-crowned Night-Heron is the most widespread heron in the world.

Snowcatcher > Did some research on herons after this incredible find, and learned the males often will steal twigs from neighboring nests to impress their intended mate.  Herons do not mate for life.
